    SMEStorage Firefox Plug-In News

    June 27th, 2008

After feedback we have one more bugfix to issue for this before is finally leaves beta. This is to do with the Token expiry which currently does not work. Once the token expires you are asked to log back in even if you are uploading files. We have updated the Token expiry time to one hour and will have the plug-in fix released in the next few days.

BlogSME - iPhone Blogging Web Application released

    June 24th, 2008

We just made available an iPhone blogging application that uses Blog platform XML RPC API’s to allow iPhone blogging to: Blog-City, Movable Type, WordPress, and Blogger.

This is a free iPhone application and we ask you to enter your blogging details each time as we do not store your password details.

We think it will be pretty useful to business and individuals who wish to blog on the move from an iPhone, and will also be useful for hosted blog platforms that do not necessarily have an iPhone client.

New ‘Public Files’ Sharing feature for SMEStorage

    June 9th, 2008

We have introduced a new feature that is currently in beta but that is live on the site. It allows you to set a file / files to be public. Once it has been set to public the files can be accessed from your public url which takes the format: http://www.smetube.com/smestorage/users/.

To set the file to be public just click on the file and then the share file icon (the icon to the very right of the file name). Choose to set the file to public and then click ‘Set’.

    SetPublic

Once the file is uploaded if you go to your public files url as described above you will see the shared public files

    SharedFiles

You can tell that the file is now public as opposed to just shared with a Group as the box around the file has two red spikes comes from it that designate it as public.

    SMEStorage Update

    June 4th, 2008

Live for SMEStorage as from now is Twitter integration. You can now enter your Twitter details within your information settings and anytime a user shares a file directly with you via the user of Groups you will get an instant SMS message telling you the name of the file shared - how cool is that !

This also works if a file is shared with you on the move from the iPhone version of the application

    SMEScheduler Update

    June 4th, 2008

There have been some notable updates with out SMEScheduler application:

The 1st is that we now integrate with Google Calendar as well as with Outlook and iCal. In the final email that the user receives if it is a time dependent poll they get a vcal, ical and Google URL which they can choose to use depending on their calendering system. Clicking on the link or any of the files automatically adds the entry to the Calendar system

    Google1

    Google2a

    Google3a

Secondly we have added support for timezones. If you now look at your user information you will notice that you can select your local timezone. This will be used for time dependant polls when constructing the VCal, iCal and Google information. This means that if the end users Calendar has timezone support turned on it will be entered correctly into their Calendar.

    Timezones2

We had a feature request for the iPhone version of SMEScheduler in which users did not want to have to manually enter their own email address. We’ve changed this so you just have to click a checkbox

    Checkbox

Lastly we’ve added the ability to not schedule a meeting if no times are suitable, again as a feature request.
